Bonnie K.’s Shred415 Story
We are SO proud of STL Shredder Bonnie Kuhn! Read on for her recent transformation during the #shred2016 Challenge.
“On January 11, I started the Sweet ’16 Challenge to get to 30 classes in 60 days. Problem is my package ended February 17, and I can’t do another month because I’m about to start coaching soccer.
So, I only had 38 days. Come February 1st, I realized I didn’t have all that much leeway, and I was really challenging myself to hit the 30-workout mark. It came down to 14 workouts in 15 days.
I had it all figured out: I was going to work out for four days. Take the Sunday after Mardi Gras off (because, well… Reasons). Then I was going to go for 10 days straight. (The thought of 10 days straight sounded horrible. Up to this point, I had only done six days in a row, and THAT was hard.)
Well, Mardi Gras rolls around, and I decide that it’s a good idea to sign up for the 9:45AM class the next morning.
So there I was on Sunday morning, not really feeling it, but thinking “I just need to show up. I can walk and jog.” The minute I started sweating, though my adrenaline started pumping and it was just impossible for me to stop working hard. And before I knew it… I felt great.
Since I didn’t give myself a day off, I unintentionally gave myself a new challenge: 15 days in a row. I did it.
As I reflect on my time there, (yes, I’m reflecting, because Shred415 is awesome—it’s like a high-energy meditation), I’ve really been happy with my personal progress.
Here are a couple of quick stats from the last five months at Shred415.
• I’ve lost 15 pounds.
• I’m a comfortable size 6… down from a tighter size 6.
• I am a MUCH more efficient runner.
• When I started, my ending warm up pace was a 6.0 mph. Now? It’s 7.5 mph.
• Before I started, my mile run pace was 9:45. Now I’m at 7:45.
• I can see my abs, kinda!
• 92 classes in 150 days.”
